After being back in Hong Kong for two days, we were off to Taiwan. Although I was excited my expectations weren’t THAT high, I hadn’t heard as much about Taiwan as I had other countries and it’s not as well known as lots of other Asian destinations.
I would tell ANYONE who has the opportunity to go to Taiwan to take it. Never mind all the amazing stuff to do there, nah. The reason you NEED to go to Taiwan is simple. Hello Kitty.
The minute you check in to your flight you realize something is different. Why is there a cardboard cut out of Hello Kitty you wonder? Then you get your boarding pass…it too is emblazoned with the proud and noble face of perhaps the most famous cat since Bastet (Egyptian cat god for those not in the know). When you actually get on the plane you realize there’s Hello Kitty painted on the jet, ALL the stewardesses are wearing Hello Kitty pins, all the TV’s show little Hello Kitty’s flying around Asia, Hello Kitty pillows, earphone bags, Hello Kitty VOMIT BAGS and there was even a CARROT shaped in Hello Kitty’s bow on the complementary meal.
On the way back you could even check in for your flight in a room that had been COMPLETELY decorated in bright pink with Hello Kitty and one of the gate’s was COMPLETELY Hello Kitty themed.
It was amazing.
No one can be scared of flying when you’re in a Hello Kitty plane!
