Switzerland and Fast Food

Written by: James Dempsey

There are a few things I instantly recognized with Switzerland. First all, was the price of McDonalds. Although I pigged out on the flight over, by the time I got through customs and found my bag, I was rather peckish. However, I lost all my appetite with once glance at the price of a Big Mac. 12.50 CHF – which is just a little more in Canadian dollars. And that’s not even with the fries and drink! So obviously I passed. Then I checked Starbucks. 9.50 CHF for a venti latte. After arriving at my Swiss friend Petra’s house, she explained that fast food was the most expensive food. The next day, when I checked out a local grocery store, I realized that general raw food prices really weren’t that bad. Moral of this food adventure, no more fast food. Man, I’m going to get skinny.
