Paying for drinks is overrated. Everyone can agree on this fact except the Ontario government and most health care professionals. Alcohol flowing freely like an engorged river after a monsoon is ‘the dream’, which can become a reality for a lucky few (aka all those lucky enough to have more than one x chromosome). Virtually everyday, somewhere in Hong Kong you can find a bar offering free drinks for da ladies. Drinks vary by location, sometimes classy (champagne), sometimes sketchy (random concoction of unknown origin which tastes like a mixture of all the stock they were unable to sell). Bar owners are smart, to make sure gals don’t share their drinks, glasses are distinctive. Or even more fun guys drinks sometimes shine when under black light (what makes that happen? Will all men eventually start growing tentacles? Only time will tell). However this rarely stops people and drinks are shared, just on the down low. I mean that literally as boys often crouch down on a crowded dance floor to hide whilst consuming the forbidden beverages. I’m not exactly sure how bars make money from this but all I can assume is that the few creepy, old dudes who come to take advantage of the influx of girls are “balla” enough to spend exorbitant amounts of money. Works for me.
