Well more accurately this is my second night in Barcelona, as the first was mainly filled with sleep, the 12 hour trip & jetlag hit me that first day. But my first actual night out in Barcelona was a great one! The bars are just so much more creative and fun! We started off the night planning to go to the Dow Jones Bar – as BUSINESS exchange students, we felt it was necessary. This is not just any bar though – it simulates the New York Stock Exchange! For any future Wall Street professionals, this bar is a must if you are passing through Barcelona. The drinks are like stocks, each with fluctuating prices. As soon as you order, the prices of the drinks change based on demand. The more ordered – the more expensive the drink! The drinks ordered least have decreasing prices! Unlike when a stock crashes though, when a drink crashes it is not a disaster! There are sirens & flashing lights, and that drink is offered at a bargain for a limited time! I loved the idea of the Dow Jones Bar, but unfortunately we got there a bit too late and it was beyond crowded. So I’ll have to go back to check it out.
Instead, we wandered a little further and went to Chupitos – let’s just say there was a wide variety of shots there, all for only 2 euros! We started off with tequila, then some blow job shots – pretty standard shots back home. But then they got interesting! We did shots that came with lollipops, and candy & some were even set on fire! My favourite started off with roasting marshmallows on the bar which was set on fire, then dipping it in the shot, eating the marshmallow & then taking the shot. 6 shots later we met some locals & decided to head to a club with them.
All in all I think it was a successful night! I can’t wait to see what else Barcelona has to offer!
